Dead Sail

Dead Sail

You ghosted across the
waters with a dead,
windless sail/
silently through the stillness
of unbroken waters.
Navigating your way
without/
stars nor compass,
towards sirens upon
broken shores of rocks
of a promised harbor.
Temptress played her flute,
sailor boy’s mermaids
come calling.
